Joan Pease ( Patron)

Joan has lived in Lytton for over thirty years with her husband, raising their two children and being an active member of the community. Prior to entering parliament, Joan built a career in Adult Education in both the corporate and community sector and ran a small business in the heart of her electorate.

Joan is a passionate advocate for the Bayside. Recognising the inter-connectedness of social and political life, Joan has always been a committed volunteer and a strong advocate for her community. Improving health services, protecting the environment and establishing support for victims of domestic violence are issues close to her heart.

Michael Sarquis

For the last 15 years of his career, Mike held the position of Executive Director of the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR). In addition to managing gaming and liquor regulation he was also responsible for administering Queensland’s largest grants program for not for profit organisations, the Gambling Community Benefit Fund. 

Mike is a Manly local and since retiring has been appointed as a member of the Gaming and Wagering Commission of Western Australia and has accepted a number of gambling related consultancy assignments.

Owen Johnston

Owen has spent over 40 years working in the screen industry as a producer, teacher, industrial negotiator, and policy manager, and has held executive roles at the Australian Film Commission and Screen Producers Australia. Owen was the founding president of the Queensland Documentary Association, the Chair of the 5th Australian International Documentary Conference and the Programmer of SCREEN FOREVER, Australia’s peak screen industry conference. Owen has raised his family in the Bayside and is keen to contribute to the vibrancy of the local community.

Katie Grehan

Katie is a consultant to the non-profit sector, she is passionate about social impact, governance, sustainability, and purpose-driven strategy.Katie has a background in finance, business analytics, business strategy, and technology, with over 15 years of experience in financial services, transport and logistics, and business consulting.

Damien Lugg

Damien has over 25 years of graphic design, printing, and marketing experience across various industries. As Director of Market to Market Communications, Damien has been involved in the production of public offer documents, national catalogues, magazines, annual reports, television commercials and marketing documents for some of Australia’s leading brands.

Damien is also one of the owners of The Community Leader, which is designed to help connect locals with community groups and businesses, and to drive community spirit and investment in the eastern suburbs of Brisbane.

Charles Alder

Over 22 years I have committed myself to community, schools and the wider community through our charity Rural Aid and other charities supporting worthwhile causes and issues. I am passionate about Education, Agriculture, homelessness and supporting a minimum living standard, no one should be forgotten or go without in our community. As a new resident of the Bayside region, I am excited about the prospects of the Bayside Community Fund and its bigger vision to support the community and fabric of the Bayside region. I hope that I can assist in raising awareness of the BCF, dollars to help secure worthwhile projects for our community and be a contributor to our wonderful area.

Tracy Alder

As a fourth generation showman traveling the length and breadth of Australia for nearly 20 years, a mother of four children in a blended family, founder of Rural Aid and passionate about education, I am driven to help and support others. As a new resident of the Bayside area, I believe I can contribute to our community through the Bayside Community Fund. I look forward to working with the community to make the Bayside Community Fund a success and my community stronger and more connected.

Nat Hoppner

Nat is a project manager in the higher education sector, with several years experience in not-for-profit and other charity organisations. She is passionate about community building, engagement and creating sustainable social and economic infrastructures for future generations.

Nat has lived in the Bayside her entire life, and is grateful for the opportunity to give back to a community which has – and continues to – contribute so much to the Brisbane ecosystem.

Janet Sarquis

Janet has worked in private enterprise and the public sector at both State and Federal levels, as well as in the hospital and aged care sectors.  She has worked in managerial roles in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations and Finance.  Since retiring, Janet has worked in volunteer roles in aged care.

Janet is a Manly local and is grateful to be involved in being able to give back to the Bayside community through the Bayside Community Fund.

Anna Roberts

Anna is a Publishing professional working as a Learning Consultant in Higher Education. Experienced working in the not-for-profit area, she has 10+ years in Arts Fundraising and Sponsorship management. Having moved to the local area 4 yrs ago, Anna is passionate about supporting local businesses and charities, is an active member of local mother’s groups and several animal refuge organizations. She is looking forward to utilising her skills in Relationship Management, Event Management, and Team Building to support the Bayside Community Fund and foster long lasting connections in the community.

Luke Hanson

Luke is a qualified financial adviser running his family-owned financial planning business here in Wynnum, My Financial Design.  He has over 20 years’ experience in financial services, including in both private and not-for-profit sectors. 

Living locally with his young family, Luke enjoys supporting the bayside area and building long-lasting community relationships.

Matt Boyce

Matthew is an experienced hospitality operator, with over 20 years management experience in Private Clubs, High End Events & Multiple Venue Management. Matthew his wife and children have lived in Wynnum for 9 years and own local business, Frankie’s Coffee Bar. Matthew is excited to offer his service to the Bayside and looks forward to contributing to the community.
